About the Author

Laura at HickorysLaura Fulton is a freelance writer, mother, traveller and former high school English teacher. She spent four years writing freelance articles for magazines throughout the United Arab Emirates before taking on a full time position in February 2010 writing features, interviews, reviews and the popular Motherload column for Abu Dhabi Week magazine.

Laura left  Abu Dhabi Week when she relocated to Melbourne, Australia at the end of 2011. She currently serves as Director of Domestic Affairs for her husband and two young boys. She also works as a writer, ghost writer and editor. She is currently taking an in-depth course in fiction at RMIT in Melbourne. She is really, truly only a tiny bit neurotic.

    Of course I remember you! As happy as I am to be in Australia, it was hard to leave Abu Dhabi behind. I miss it and all the friends I had there. I’ll let you know when the book is ready – hope my little blog can fill the gap for anyone who misses Motherload 🙂

  5. I have just returned to Abu Dhabi from my winter vacation and picked up the latest Abu Dhabi week at the airport although still a good read it is not the same without your Motherload column. Abu Dhabi will indeed miss you and I cannot wait to get my hands on your book! Good luck down under and keep up the good work!

I really like the knowledge you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m shocked at how fast your blog loaded on my mobile .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G ..
